Israel is planning a secret operation this year to airlift hundreds of Jews out of Yemen, Britain's Sunday Times newspaper said. The newspaper, quoting unidentified Jewish sources, said the plan, code-named Operation Magic Carpet, would be similar to that which evacuated thousands of Jews from Ethiopia in 1984 and was likely to take place before Israel's general election in June.
